Love the grounds, they were beautiful and felt safe and pleasant, loved the pool and the restaurant. The lobby is warm and inviting and the staff were all very friendly. Food at Cielos was very good - even the included breakfast was delicious! Loved that we could sit outside in the sun, the shade, covered with heaters, inside at the restaurant side or bar side! Great choices for seating preferences. Menu was a bit limited, but everything we tried was excellent. Rooms are cozy with a fireplace! We loved the fireplace and used it several times! Room was clean and comfortable.

Centrally located, while an older property, very well maintained, employees were unilaterally wonderful, front desk, maintenance, restaurant, rooms were large and well appointed. Parking was spacious and complimentary. We ate at the restaurant, Cielos, three times, my birthday dinner, complementary breakfast and lunch before we headed back to Phoenix. Excellent. Some reviews were not positive on the breakfast, it is your usual breakfast buffet. Nothing out of the ordinary but well done. No complaints.

Linda

This charming hacienda style place is a hidden diamond in the desert. Great value for a resort style facility that offers lots of amenities including a gorgeous pool and spa. It is conveniently located. It has a fabulous onsite restaurant. Although built in 1936, the entire facility is upgraded. Well maintained site. The rooms are clean and quiet. I would highly recommend Lodge on the Desert to any of my friends or family. We had a wonderful time and definitely will stay there again.

The breakfast buffet is truly exceptional! Mixed fruit--watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe, blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries. Granola, cream of wheat, and oatmeal with brown sugar, raisins and dried cranberries were available all the time. Crisp bacon, super sausage, real scrambled eggs (not baked), and several variations on potatoes were all served nice and hot. More than we had anticipated. The room itself was very quiet with an old pueblo design.

No room available first night upon arrival, despite reconfirming with hotel directly and Booking.com after amending reservation to add that night. Front desk sprang into action, finding a nearby alternate. Loved the next night there, the pool and spa, the cactus garden grounds, great dinner at restaurant, wonderful breakfast included. Such a taste of old Tucson, view of the mountains. Comfortable bed in charming king Casita room.
